The VA Columbia South Carolina HealthCare System is seeking a dedicated MRI Technologist to provide top-notch imaging services at our VA Medical Center. As a pivotal member of our radiology team, you will perform a variety of MRI examinations to help diagnose and treat our veteran patients.

Key Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic MRI exams including head, neck, spine, chest, abdomen, pelvis, and extremities.
Conduct MRA's and MR guided procedures, such as biopsies.
Establish IV access and administer contrast while monitoring for adverse reactions.
Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures, and manage patient flow efficiently.
Collaborate with radiologists to adapt protocols when necessary.
Follow safety procedures to protect patients and staff from magnetic environments.
Participate in quality control and cleaning of equipment.

Qualifications

Advanced certification in MRI by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
Completion of a 24-month diagnostic radiologic technology program accredited by JRCERT or equivalent.
At least one year of experience equivalent to the GS-8 grade level in MRI, including knowledge of safety and contrast media.
Proficiency in written and spoken English.

Conditions of Employment

Must be a U.S. citizen.
