Military Grades: Officer (CPT to MAJ)
Minimum Requirements: Experience or training which demonstrates a knowledge of museum education, curation, or collections management.
Basic Qualifications
- Degree: museum work; or in an applicable subject-matter field. or
- Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major, as shown in 1 above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. or
- Four years of experience that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study as shown in 1 above.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal Service.
For this position, specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience in research, collection, identification, cataloging, preventative conservation, documentation and display of each item in the museum/collection; developing original plans/exhibit scripts and/or collaborating with exhibit designers on final designs for exhibits, including research necessary for preparation of exhibits and determining gallery space direct teaching and lectures to promote awareness of state NG history; answering telephonic and written inquiries providing technical and general information upon request to military agencies, clubs, teachers, researchers, students, and other interested individuals.
