Summary
This position is located within Navy Region Southwest Fleet Family Readiness (FFR) Department and is responsible for multiple and varied food and beverage facilities at Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake (NAWSCL). Responsible for the oversight of the food and beverage operations within the designated installation which includes, but is not limited to, developing and implementing marketing and menu plans and developing and overseeing budgets. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Duties
Maintains operational NRSW standards directed towards accomplishing the basic mission of the activities, prepares operation budget for review, ensures food and beverage services, facilities and equipment are in good repair, supplies are of good quality, properly programmed, marketed and advertised, properly priced for resale or consumption and are oriented towards patron satisfaction.
Responsible through subordinate managers for the accountability and internal controls for receipts, property and monies at the local level. Responsible for ensuring proper training, supervision and scheduling of staff through subordinate supervisors. Evaluates work performance of management staff, adjusts management schedules as needed and coordinates personnel actions for the assigned food and beverage operation. Resolves or recommends solutions to problems.
Coordinates functions/events requiring food and beverage service within the site. Coordinates with Facilities Operations Manager to ensure requirements for the occasion are met which include suitable types of services, menus, beverage items and prices to be charged. Through subordinate managers, and under direct supervision of the N9 IPD, plans and projects operations and improvements through regular analysis of financial assets and liabilities of the department.
Analyzes financial data, reviews budgets and submits reports and recommendations to N9 IPD. Reviews official and unofficial site correspondence pertaining to the Food and Beverage Department. Holds meetings to coordinate details of the Food and Beverage Department. Attends conferences and meetings in relation to Food & Beverage Department matters at other locations as required by the NRSW Dining Services Program Manager.
Carries out EEO policies and communicates support of these policies to subordinates. Assures quality in determining selections, assignments, training, promotions, details, qualifications, discipline and awards to employees.

A qualified candidate must possess:
A degree in Food and Beverage Management or Business Administration and/or the equivalent experience and specialized training in a variety of food and beverage service facilities, programming, marketing, catering and banquet operations is required.
Minimum of five years related education or experience in personnel management/supervision is required.
Specialized knowledge and experience as demonstrated in application of managing multiple types of dining establishments to include quick serve, fine dining, and catering, to include managing daily operations, marketing, budget and adherence to standards of such facilities.
Must have a minimum of five years extensive background in budgeting, financial management and planning.
Must be able to travel, visit other facilities, appraise different services and evaluate similarities and differences according to their respective missions as they relate to our services.
Must be a positive leader, able to influence the actions of others in obtaining cooperation and assistance to meet NRSW mission and vision.
Familiarity with point of sale, catering software, and basics of food ordering systems required.
Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing in English.
Education
