Duties
The following duties are listed at the WG-09 level for this position:
- Performs building and/or utility maintenance and operation duties.
- Incumbent utilizes journeyman knowledge and skills in at least two of the following trades: Carpentry, Plumbing, Painting,
Masonry, Water Treatment Plant Operations, or Roofing.
- Responsible for the maintenance, repair and construction of facilities including historic
structures and resources.
- Uses measuring devices and test equipment such as multimeters, meggers, continuity checkers, manometers and other
special purpose test equipment to adjust, measure and record data.
- Operates power equipment such as sanders and buffers in preparing surfaces for finishing. Also uses air-spray, airless spray, rollers, brushes, trowels, screeds, viscosity testers, graining devices, and wet and other thickness gauges. Uses tools associated with the trade such as trowels, floats, joint runner, gauge lines, spirit levels, plumb bobs, air hammers, hand hammers, chisels, etc.
- Works from building plans, blueprints, and sketches to plan and lay out the routing, placement, slant, slope fall, and proper operation of systems and equipment.
- Matches or creates exact reproductions of various components of historic buildings and fixtures. Plans, computes, and lays out projects and identifies material needs.
This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until November 29, 2024. Some positions are career seasonal. The nature of seasonal work may vary from year to year, which is generally based on budget, workload, and/or weather. A career seasonal work schedule provides for at least 26 weeks (13 pay periods) of full-time work, and as many as 26 weeks (13 pay period) of non-duty/non-pay time per year as determined by management. The non-pay time for these positions may be two weeks to six months but is expected to be two consecutive weeks between (ex. October and December). See locations above for non-pay time. You will have the option to continue your health coverage while in non-pay status.
