                - Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain CDL Class A license within 1 year of appointment.
- This position requires the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Drivers License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- Obtain and maintain a current Corps of Engineers motorboat operators license including all requirements of the District Licensing Policy within 1 year of appointment.
- This is a drug testing designated position subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter.
- Pre-employment physical is required prior to appointment and annually thereafter.
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain a Certification to operate wastewater systems within 1 year of appointment.
- The incumbent of this position may be required to work irregular duty hours to include working nights, weekends and holidays.
- 1 year probationary period may be required.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Maintenance Mechanic without more than normal supervision. Candidate must have the ability to perform common of a Maintenance Mechanic tasks such as: use and operate common hand and power tools, equipment, and/or measuring devices of the carpentry, plumbing, and/or electrical trades, and have the ability to detect simple deficiencies and perform simple preventive maintenance tasks.I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.

Work requires considerable walking, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Works from ladders, scaffolding, and platforms. Physical effort required to reach, bend, turn or move hands, arms, feet and legs to operate and maneuver motor vehicles and engineering equipment. Strain may be caused by constant vibration of equipment operated. Frequently lifts and carries objects weighing up to 40-50 pounds.
Works inside and outside in all kinds of weather. Exposed to constant noise, rotating machinery, dirt, dust, grease, chemicals, oils and fumes. Subject to possibility of injury from falls, electrical shock, and hazards associated with woodworking and related power equipment. Subject to cuts, abrasions, burns, and infections. May be exposed to poisonous insects, reptiles, and plants. Must follow prescribed safety practices and use safety equipment such as face shield, gloves, respirators and protective clothing. Discomfort may be experienced while wearing protective clothing. May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty. e cause for a determination that the incumbent has failed to meet the conditions necessary for continued employment in this position.
