- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a certificate of medical examination.
- Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
- Incumbent is required to work in adverse weather conditions(e.g., heat, cold, rain, wind, etc.).
- Uses moderate physical effort in the process of stacking, loading, unloading, moving, and carrying tools and equipment, and materials ranging in weight from 10 lbs. to 50 lbs.
- Occasionally is required to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
- Works inside and outside and the jobs usually are dirty, dusty, and greasy. Occasionally is required to wear uncomfortable protective clothing.
- Is sometimes required to perform work outside in bad weather and in work areas that are noisy. Is frequently exposed to the possibility of broken bones, burns, cuts, bruises, shocks and strains.
- Work hours may involve weekend, weekdays, holidays and night duty.
- Possession of or the ability to acquire a state driver's license.
Qualifications
Work experience directly related to the duties described above to include the skill and knowledge required.
Skill and Knowledge: Is expected to be skilled in the techniques used in a variety of trades. (i.e. journeyman level carpentry and plumbing skills, and at intermediate level skill in other trades work. Operate a variety of motorized vehicles. Must be qualified to use a variety of tools such as saws, hammers, metal and wood files, augers, shovels, paint brushes, spray guns, torque wrenches, feeler gages, planes, skill saws, radial arm saw, band saws, chain saws, joiners, electric sanders, pantographs, voltmeter, ohmmeter, fuse tester in the performance of assigned duties.
