Duties
Career Seasonal: Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work for approximately January through mid-December and you will be in a non-pay status (12/20/26-1/2/27) for the remainder of the year.?
Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following:
Responsible for the day-to-day supervision and work direction of buildings and utilities trades, crafts, trails, grounds, and janitorial facility operations. Serves as Project Supervisor and park Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) and Agreements Technical Representative (ATR). Provides professional and technical support and knowledge on utilities, trades, and crafts such as electrical, HVAC, potable water system operation, drainage, storm and sanitary sewer systems, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, painting, trails, grounds keeping and janitorial services. Writes scopes of work for contracting packages. Reviews and tracks the budget and provides input to Facility Manager on divisional allocation requests and expenditures. Reviews, approves, and tracks purchasing for the facility management division. Performs supervisory duties such as preparing HR packages for recruitment, scheduling work assignments, managing workload capacity, maintaining records, managing employee performance, and actively supporting the EEO program. Manages the FMSS system for the park, ensuring that information is accurate, thorough, and timely. Works with Facility Manager to enter proactive project plans in PMIS for project funding.

- Uniform: You are required to wear a uniform and comply with uniform standards. A uniform allowance will be provided.
- Contract Representative: Must be able obtain and maintain a current COR Level 1 Certificate within 180 days of appointment.
- Government Charge Card: You are required to complete training, obtain and maintain a government credit card with travel and purchase authority.
- Water Distribution License: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Water Distribution License within one year of appointment.
- Wastewater Treatment Operators Certificate: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Wastewater Treatment Operators Certificate within one year of appointment.
- Minimum Age Requirement: You must be at least (1) 18 years old or (2) at least 16 years old and: (a) Have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school; or (b) Have completed a formal vocational training program; or (c) Have received a statement from school authorities agreeing with their preference for employment rather than continuing their education; or (d) Be currently enrolled in a secondary school and either work only during school vacation periods or work part-time during the school year under a formal student employment program.

Probationary Period: As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you may be required to serve a 1-year Probationary Period to evaluate your fitness and whether your continuation of employment advances the public interest.

SCREEN OUTS
Ability To Lead Or Supervise (Minimum Qualifications): Have experience that demonstrates the ability to lead or supervise as a Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor, WS-4749 with responsibility for teaching or guiding others in daily operations across buildings, utilities, trades, grounds, and custodial functions, providing technical guidance in electrical, HVAC, water systems, drainage, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, painting, and janitorial services while serving as Project Supervisor, COR, and ATR. I manage youth programs and agreements; review and track budgets and purchasing; approve payroll, leave, scheduling, travel, and charge-card actions; prepare HR recruitment and onboarding packages; develop and implement short- and long-term work plans; and ensure accurate FMSS data and reporting to support informed decision-making and efficient maintenance operations.

Physical Demands: Physical effort is heavy to moderate and requires occasional lifting or handling of objects or materials up to 50 pounds, unassisted, following proper lifting procedures to avoid injury. Frequently required to stand while working, climb ladders or scaffolding, and bend, stoop, climb, and work in awkward positions. This requires standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing and working in tiring and cramped positions. Working Conditions: Exposed to a variety of seasonal weather conditions while working outdoors (temperatures -40 to 100+ degrees). Subject to danger of falling from ladders or scaffolding. Exposed to dust, dirt, wind, and rain. May work with dangerous chemicals and around moving equipment; paints, solvents, etc. May be exposed to electrical shocks and biting insects. The incumbent's clothing may become soiled fromĀ· grease, dust, and chemicals. There is frequent exposure to the possibility of cuts, bruises, falling, bums, broken bones and chemical vapors, constant noise, rotating machinery, dust, grease, chemicals, oil, fumes and infectious blood pathogens when working in or about systems. Incumbent may also be exposed to energized circuits, electrical shock, burns, electrical rotary devices, cuts and abrasions from the use of tools and equipment and bums from chemicals. The incumbent may be exposed to biological hazards or diseases while cleaning equipment or shoveling sludge, and hazardous gases such as methane, chlorine, hydrogen sulfide, and carbon monoxide. The incumbent may also be subject to electrical shock, loud noises, acids, and hydraulic fluids while working around motors and pumps. There is exposure to shock, burns, and strains. The incumbent follows prescribed safety practices and uses safety equipment such as face shields, gloves, hard toe shoes, respirators, and protective clothing that may be uncomfortable to wear. The incumbent is required to attend and participate in safety meetings and training and review and follow safety regulations and policies prior to using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as goggles, rubber mats, gloves, hard hats and respirators as the jobs require. The incumbent may be required to operate motor vehicles and heavy engineering equipment. The incumbent is required to adhere to safety rules and regulations, and standards as set by OSHA and the Park's established Safety Plan. Snowmobile operation is occasionally required for winter operations at some park locations.
