Summary
Positions to be filled are located at Florissant Fossil Beds NM in Florissant, CO (1), Capulin Volcano NM in Capulin, NM (1), Dinosaur NM in Dinosaur, CO (1) and Zion National Park in Springdale, UT (3).
Performs routine work in the maintenance and repair of grounds, exterior structures, buildings and related utilities, requiring the use of a variety of trade practices associated with occupations such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, cement work, painting, and other related trades.

- These positions provide routine maintenance on park facilities including minor carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical work.
- Assists higher graded maintenance employees in the performance of maintenance tasks.
- Safety and effectively uses hand and power tools required for the job and has the ability to maintain these tools properly.

Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument -
Florissant, Colorado is situated in the Rocky Mountains in western Teller County and the park is at 8,500 feet of elevation. The small community offers excellent recreation opportunities and is only 16 miles from the city of Woodland Park and 38 miles from Colorado Springs. The climate is pleasant featuring warm summers with cool evenings and higher altitude winters with 10-14 inches of average snow accumulation.
Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument was established in 1969 and set aside to protect one of the richest fossil deposits in the world. The park also protects massive petrified redwood tree stumps. The park landscape features mountain meadows and rolling hills forested with ponderosa pine, spruce, fir, and aspen.

Zion National Park -
Zion National Park is located in southwestern Utah. The climate is generally hot with daytime high temperatures ranging from 95 to 110 degrees in the summer, and 55 to 10 degrees in the winter. Nighttime lows range from 65 degrees in the summer to 10 degrees in the winter. Minimal shopping is available in Springdale, Utah, located two (2) miles from Park Headquarters. A full range of shopping, medical, dental, religious, and recreational facilities are available in Hurricane (25 miles), St. George, (45 miles), and in Cedar City, (63 miles), Utah. Elementary school (grades K-5) is available in Springdale, with bus service provided. Junior high and high school is available in Hurricane, with bus service provided. Utah Tech University is located in St. George, and Southern Utah University is located in Cedar City. **Due to the desirable nature of the area surrounding Zion National Park, please be sure to research and understand the limited housing options and the area's cost-of-living.**
Capulin Volcano National Monument -
Capulin Volcano National Monument is an 800-acre park located in rural northeast New Mexico approximately 32 miles east of Raton, NM and 57 miles west of Clayton NM off U.S. Highway 64/87. Elevations range from 7,242 to 8,182 feet. Capulin Volcano is located near the villages of Capulin, Folsom and Des Moines. There is limited services in these smaller villages. Raton (population 5,960) and Trinidad CO (56 miles distant) (population 8,175) have housing, educational, medical, religious, cultural and shopping opportunities. Average daily temperatures range from 40s to 50s F in winter and 80s to low 90s F in summer. This is a great location in northern New Mexico to pursue outdoor adventures and participate in recreational activities in the southern Rocky Mountains.

Dinosaur National Monument -
Dinosaur National Monument is a spectacular 210,000-acre medium-sized park with mega-park values. Dinosaur has the most complete geologic record of any national park area and an internationally renowned display of Jurassic era dinosaur bones. The rugged landscape provides habitats that support a diverse assemblage of plants and animals and critical habitat for endangered species. People have been living on this landscape for over 10,000 years and the evidence of their activities can be seen in numerous rock art sites and homesteads. The whitewater rafting and magnificent scenery found in the canyons of the Green and Yampa rivers provide premier Western boating experiences. The Yampa is the only remaining large tributary in the Colorado River system that retains its free-flowing character. Dinosaur is over 90% recommended wilderness and was certified as a Dark Sky Park in 2019. Dinosaur National Monument spans a remote area of NE Utah and NW Colorado that is a 3.5-hour drive from Salt Lake City, Utah and a 6-hour drive from Denver, Colorado. The park headquarters is located 2 miles from Dinosaur, Colorado. The communities of Rangely, CO and Vernal, UT offer all amenities (hospital, schools, grocery, etc.) and are within commuting distance of headquarters located near Dinosaur, CO and the Quarry Visitor Center located near Jensen, UT.
