There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Maintenance Worker (Dual Rate) without more than normal supervision. Operate a 140-ton hydraulic crane, use and maintenance of hydraulic power units and marine construction. I am skilled in basic metal welding and watercraft maintenance and repair. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTORS:

- PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Work may often require the incumbent to climb and work in high places, or in confined areas belowwater level. Work would frequently require considerable lifting and carrying of materials or objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Frequent standing, bending, walking, and kneeling are required. Safe work practices are an integral part of this position. Incumbent is required to know, comply with, and promote prescribed safety rules and regulations.
- WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed inside and outside, aboard floating plant, suspended from harnesses, and wading along shorelines. During the performance of duties, incumbent is subject to the hazards of extremeheat and cold, drowning, contact with poisonous reptiles and plants, insect bites, slipping, falling objects, swinging loads, eye injuries from clipping paint and rust, and infection from cuts, bruises, abrasions, etc.
