Duties
- Performs a variety of trades and laboring duties involving maintenance, repair and improvement of facilities and equipment. Duties require trade practices associated with painting, carpentry and laboring work.
- Makes repairs and alterations to hockey rink boards, seats, bleachers, basketball surfaces in accordance with specifications set by NCAA and the supervisor.
- Maintains equipment, including a Zamboni Ice Resurfacer, Ice Edger, Tenant Rider Sweeper/scrubber, Gator Field Vehicle and Golf Carts.
- Sets up, breaks down and maintains goals, nets, bleachers, weight room equipment and audio/visual equipment.

- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, Chapter 2.
- Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities
- Uses moderate physical effort in the process of moving and carrying tools, equipment materials ranging in weight from 10-80 lbs.
- Is required to stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
- Occasionally works in cramped quarters, and is required to expend strenuous effort in moving materials, and adjusting and placing heavy equipment.
- Work is performed indoors and outdoors.
- Exposed to paint vapors, dust, noise, heat and cold.
- Is subject to strains and similar types of injuries from lifting tools, heavy equipment and materials. May work on scaffolding or ladders.
Qualifications
- Experience in performing duties as described and the ability to follow oral and written instructions involving those duties.
- Incumbent is expected to have a basic knowledge of the standard techniques in the maintenance of buildings and equipment, and have the ability to read and compute simple arithmetic.
- Be skilled in use and operation of common hand and power tools and measuring devised of the painting/carpentry trades.
- Must have ability to learn new techniques and procedures associated with the preceding.
