- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Possesses satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-13, to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
- A health assessment is required. Immunizations may be required as a condition of employment for the health and safety of those in the facility.
- Must be able to work rotating shifts to include nights, weekends and holidays.
- Must possess a valid driver's license to operate assigned government vehicles. The employee must maintain a current driver’s license while in this job.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a USAREUR driver's license.
- The work is usually performed indoors. Exposed to dust, dirt, and noise. The worker will be exposed to the possibility of cuts, bruises, burns, and broken bones from falling objects or when working on ladders or driving a motor vehicle.
Qualifications
Ability to communicate in English at a level to assure the duties described can be accomplished in a safe and satisfactory manner. Demonstrated skills in successfully operating standard tools. Must have minimum 1 year of experience in accomplishing the types of duties described in this job.
Skill and Knowledge: Must have a working knowledge of wood working techniques and basic shop mathematics. Must be skilled in use and operation of common hand and power tools and measuring devices of the carpentry and painting trades to perform a variety of tasks. Must have a knowledge of standard surface preparation and coating methods and techniques. Must have ability to read and follow basic blueprints and sketches. Must have skill in manipulating controls of a motor vehicle. Must have a great attitude and be able to work with a team.
Physical Effort: The worker makes repairs and installations from floor level, ground level, and from ladders. Work requires standing, stooping, bending, climbing, crawling, and kneeling for extended periods in uncomfortable positions. Worker may lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds and, occasionally heavier items with assistance. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ascend or descend 10'+ ladders, scaffolding, ramps. Use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity. Work for sustained periods of time maintaining concentrated attention to detail. Job-duty applicable sense of smell, sound, touch, hand/eye coordination, manual dexterity and vision range. Ability to communicate via radios and technology. Vision, Speech, Hearing, Literacy.
