Summary

This position is in the Government Accountability Office (GAO). As a Management and Program Analyst, you will be responsible for evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of policies and operations for mission team or office functions to enable management to make timely, evidence based and data-driven decisions.

Duties

As aManagement and Program Analyst, PT, 0343, 1, your typical work assignments may include the following:

  • Interpret and analyze issue and develop conclusions related to respective Mission Team operational activities.
  • Advise management on specific requests and help to resolve problems.
  • Conduct studies of employee/organizational efficiency and productivity and recommend changes or improvements in organization, staffing, work methods, and procedures.
  • Analyze management information requirements data to assist with developing administrative reporting of performance metrics and evaluate processes to achieve staffing goals.
  • Evaluate the efficiency or effectiveness of programs, policies, or organizations.
  • Support engagement teams with travel arrangements and other Mission Team staff as needed.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the BAND I level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:

Applicants must have 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower band or level equivalent to the GS-5 in the Federal Service, or comparable private/public sector experience which has equipped you with the skills and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience in (1) Analyzing data from various GAO web applications and systems to develop tracking schedules and draft reports and (2) reviewing management information requirements data to assist with developing administrative reporting. OR


GRADUATE LEVEL EDUCATION: Applicant has completed at least 1 year of graduate education. One full year of graduate education is generally considered 18 semester hours or the number of hours determined by the school attended to represent 1 year of full-time study.

OR

I have a combination of graduate education and specialized experience that meets 100% of the specialized experience requirement above.
