The United States Space Force (USSF) at Peterson SFB, Colorado Springs CO is searching for a Manpower and Personnel Manager to support MD31/S1 (NH-0343-03, GS-12/13 Equivalent).
Description:
As the Manpower and Personnel Manager for the MD31 S1 office, you will be at the forefront of our organizational strategy. Your mission will be to provide clear direction and expert resolution for all civilian and military personnel matters. Your daily responsibilities will include identifying manning needs, processing personnel actions, and managing critical taskers. A key part of your role will be developing insightful reports and briefings that communicate our manpower strategy to senior leadership. From managing civilian appraisals to overseeing officer assignments, your work will directly drive efficiency and enhance our overall performance. We require a candidate with outstanding communication and problem-solving skills who thrives in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

The ideal candidate for this role is a proactive and decisive professional with a proven track record in human resources. You should possess either a bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience, coupled with an aptitude for navigating complex personnel programs. Success in this position requires exceptional communication skills to confidently interact with senior officials and a strategic approach to problem-solving. We are looking for an individual with a strong work ethic and meticulous attention to detail who thrives in a dynamic environment and is committed to delivering excellence.
Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of process and procedures of federal Civilian and Military Human Resource and personnel program management.
2. Knowledge of other federal HR processes sufficient to relate recruitment and placement issues to them.
3. Skill in working with customers to assess needs, provide assistance, resolve problems, and satisfy expectations in written or oral communication.
4. Ability to lead, organize work, set priorities, and determine resource requirements; determine goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinate with other organizations; monitor progress, and evaluate outcomes.
5. Ability to identify problems and use sound judgment and decisions to generate and evaluate alternatives and make recommendations to management.
6. Ability to encourage new ideas and innovations; manage human, financial and information resources strategically and build coalitions to achieve common goals.

- Must be a U.S Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Safeguards classified or sensitive budget-related information and/or files.
- May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
- Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed “Unscheduled Telework”.
- This position will close after 5 business days or 75 applications, whichever comes first.
- Employee may be required to perform travel by military or commercial passenger aircraft in the performance of temporary duty assignments.
- PCS / relocation funding is not authorized.
- Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise; employee must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
- Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): 20 days a year.
