Marriage and Family Therapist
Position Overview
Join our team as a Marriage and Family Therapist located at the Visalia Outpatient Clinic. Work in collaboration with Primary Care Mental Health Integration and Behavioral Health Providers to support the Veteran population through mental health assessments and therapeutic treatments.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop treatment plans.
- Provide consultations to assess the eligibility and appropriate level of care for Veterans.
- Deliver therapy to individuals, families, couples, and groups to address various psychiatric disorders.
- Participate in crisis intervention as necessary.
- Collaborate with departments like the Substance Use Disorder Program and Mental Health Clinic to ensure a seamless transition to necessary services.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a comparable mental health degree.
- Full, unrestricted MFT license to practice independently.
- Knowledge of human development, interventions, and family systems theory.
- Strong skills in psychotherapy, risk assessment, and counseling.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Telework available on an ad hoc basis.
