Duties

  • Coordinates and processes shipping, receiving, and refurbishment documents in both paper and electronic format.
  • Manage inventory conducting inspections, physical counts, using an automated computer system to include scanning devices.
  • Prioritize, organize, and coordinate the movement of materials between a wide range of locations.
  • Operates forklifts, stock pickers, vehicles, and various types of packaging equipment.
  • Packs supplies and equipment using a wide variety of packing materials to ensure safe and intact delivery.
  • Inspect and identify the condition of property to accurately determine serviceability of item.
  • Collates, assembles, inventories, and builds kits from individual components according to standards.

Qualifications

OPM Job Qualifications System for Trades and Labor Occupations will be used in determining your qualifications. There is no specific length of training or experience required; however, you must be able to demonstrate through experience shown in the resume materials, that you possess the skill level that has equipped you with the particular job elements to successfully perform the duties of without more than normal supervision.

Physical Demands: Performs work on hard surfaces and in areas that require frequent standing, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries parts, equipment and packed containers that weigh up to 40 pounds (8 kilograms) on a recurring basis. The heavier items are moved with weight-handling equipment or with assistance from other workers. Required to be available to work long hours on short notice and be available for duty on weekends, holidays and nights.

Work Environment: Typically works in well lighted, heated and ventilated areas. Occasionally works outside or in areas that are drafty and poorly lighted. The work is sometimes dusty, dirty and greasy. Is frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes and bruises. When working with packaging products, chemicals or petroleum products may be exposed to noxious fumes, skin irritants and flammable chemicals. In certain work situations involving hazardous materials, wears protective clothing, respirators, and other specialized protective devices, in addition to basic protective equipment (e.g., hard hats, safety glasses, safety shoes, and earplugs.
