Summary

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is seeking a licensed Physician to join a team of Medical Officers (MO) that manages the fitness for duty of the workforce for the world's leading Federal Law Enforcement Agency. The MO team supports the FBI mission by reviewing medical examinations to determine applicants' and employees' fitness for duty and supports various programs impacting the entire FBI workforce.

Duties

  • Evaluates and treats occupational injury and illnesses of trainees at Quantico.
  • Implements employee health direction strategies for the organization regarding physical and psychological well-being of the workforce.
  • Establishes working relationships with internal and external community medical practitioners and organizations.
  • Develops and implements a variety of employee health and preventive hazardous occupational health programs.
  • Conducts evaluations, reviews reports, medical evaluations and participates in the Medical Evaluation Board and process.
  • Provide consultation regarding applicant processing and pre-employment medical evaluation.
  • Coordinates with members of special program areas; the FBI clinical personnel, field office Nursing staff and psychological evaluation providers.

Conditions of Employment

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance
  • Must submit copy of Medical Degree, either M.D. or D.O.
  • Must submit a copy of license as a Board Certified Physician

Qualifications

In addition to meeting the EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS below, applicants must also meet the specialized experience (SE) requirements as described below. In order for you to qualify based on Specialized Experience (SE), you must possess the SE below for the GS 15 level. Please ensure all specialized experience can be identified in your resume.

GS 15: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level. SE is defined as follows:
  • Experience in recognizing and diagnosing health conditions and to treat/refer employees for specialized medical treatment.
  • Experience in evaluating occupational health needs such as evaluations of physical, mental, and emotional capacities.
  • Experience in performing medical duties in accordance with accepted medical standards and practices.
  • Experience in building report with medical personnel from other government agencies and appropriate professional associations.
Desired Skills
Desired skills are NOT mandatory and will NOT be utilized to minimally qualify applicants.
Desired Skills are:
  • Prior Military or Federal Service
  • Sports Medicine and/or Urgent Care Experience

Education

This position has a specific education requirement; all applicants must verify completion of this basic educational requirement by submitting a copy of their college transcripts by the closing date of the vacancy announcement.

  • Doctor of Medicine Degree or Doctor of Osteopathy
  • Licensed and Board Certified physician
Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the above requirements provided you can show foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States.
