You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes working in a medical treatment facility as an outpatient coder/inpatient coder; assisting with quality assurance studies to determine quality and accuracy of the medical documentation; performing quality control of medical records data; assisting in training providers, clerical staff, and coding trainees on the coding of medical records.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
