Mental Health Psychologist Program Manager

Position Overview

Join the Department of Veterans Affairs Tennessee Valley Healthcare system as a Program Manager in our Mental Health Care Line. This dynamic role offers a blend of management and direct patient care tailored to provide valuable mental health services to our Veterans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct the Primary Care Mental Health Integration (PCMHI) and Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP).
  • Oversee program planning, development, policy formation, and service delivery.
  • Provide leadership consultation and clinical guidance utilizing evidence-based practices.
  • Conduct ongoing program evaluations, including performance and outcome projects.
  • Facilitate coordination with other programs and negotiate service agreements.
  • Deliver at least 50% direct patient care and maintain therapeutic relationships with Veterans.
  • Lead training and development activities for staff and support student and intern education.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Doctoral degree in psychology from an APA or CPA accredited program.
  • Unrestricted license to practice psychology at a doctoral level in the U.S.
  • At least three years of professional psychologist experience, with advanced management skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, background checks, and drug screening.
  • COVID-19 and seasonal influenza vaccinations are mandatory.

Physical Demands
