There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Motor Vehicle Operator without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common operation of one or more types of gasoline, diesel or electric powered wheeled vehicles with gross vehicle weight of more than 26,000 and up to 32,000 pounds. I can operate a service truck/utility vehicle. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below. Your application will be further evaluated to determine if you meet the best qualified cut-off for referral to the selecting official.
This position requires that you possess and maintain the following: a valid state-issued Class-B commercial driver's license. You MUST upload CDL License at time of application submission or you will be rated ineligible.

- PHYSICAL EFFORT: The employee lifts, carries and handles equipment up to 40 pounds unassisted and over 40 pounds with assistance. Works from ladders, scaffolding platforms, cramped areas or confined spaces where equipment, parts or tools are hard to reach. Work requires frequent stooping, stretching, bending kneeling and working in tiring, uncomfortable positions for long periods.
- MVO PHYSICAL EFFORT: Includes reaching, bending turning and moving. Frequently handles objects up to 40 lbs. Moderate physical effort in such tasks as coupling and towing equipment, changing tires, operating, turning and controlling vehicles.
- WORKING CONDITIONS: The employee works indoors and outdoors on elevated structures and in cramped areas or confined spaces. Conditions are often dirty, dusty, greasy, hot, wet or cold. Exposed to blood-born pathogens. Subject to discomfort from face masks or other protective devices when there is a possibility of exposure to noxious gases, fumes or acids. Subject to possible burns, cuts and injury from falls. May be required to wear safety equipment, such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves and hard hats and other personal protective equipment.
