PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK CONDITIONS: Incumbent is exposed to inclement weather conditions that include extreme cold and hot conditions. Incumbent must have the physical ability to maneuver extremely heavy supplies and/or patients weighing up to 500 pounds. The heavier or bulky items are moved with material handling equipment or with assistance by other warehouse personnel. The work involves walking, bending, and pushing when handling supplies and equipment. Duties also require extended periods of standing, walking and exposure to weather conditions.
The incumbent is exposed to all conditions inherent to weather and to microorganisms inherent to a hospital setting. This includes excessive hot and cold weather conditions, dust, dirt, flying debris, insects, etc. Incumbent is also exposed to disagreeable sights and odors.
