In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Providing administrative and technical supervision over subordinates for technical radiological control work.
2) Experience in engineering methods and techniques and health physics concepts, of nuclear propulsion power systems.
3) Experience in utilizing engineering and scientific principles as applied to nuclear reactor plant, reactor plant equipment, and transportation involving nuclear reactor plant components or radioactive material.

Additional Information: The work is partly sedentary but requires the incumbent to go aboard ships and into the field that may involve exposure to ionizing radiation, to extreme hot or cold, and regular/recurring walking, stooping, bending, crawling, and climbing vertical ladders. Occasionally, the incumbent may be required to embark on submarines, Navy vessels and military aircraft in the performance of duty. Lifting involves basic regulations and books.
Most work is performed in an office environment; however, there is occasional domestic and foreign travel to Naval Bases, Shipyards, government contractors' laboratories, senior civil authority offices and operation facilities. The incumbent will also occasionally go aboard nuclear-powered ships with resultant exposure to noise and industrial safety hazards. The incumbent may be required to embark on submarine, surface ships, and military aircraft from time to time in the performance of duty. Shipboard and Shipyard work areas are subject to dust, fumes, radiation and radioactive contaminators, and required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment. There will be routine construction site inspections, and routine inspection 7 of emergency response vehicles and responder kits in various weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain and temperatures below freezing.
