MANDATORY EDUCATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination
-AND- possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Applicants must possess a graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery: Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
(Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign. Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.)
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing educational program or related medical science field;
-OR- at least one full year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to the GS-9 grade level) and possession of a diploma, associate degree, bachelor's degree, or master's degree from a professional nursing educational program.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume and any other supporting documentation you wish to provide must clearly substantiate you currently possess
6 months of specialized experience in the following:
- Experience demonstrating knowledge of the basic principles and practices related to the management of occupational health care delivery systems.
- Experience planning, developing, analyzing, and briefing the occupational health nursing services provided to National Guard personnel throughout the state.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of current standards of practice for utilization management as described by the Department of Defense, Department of Army, U.S. Army Medical Command, National Guard, State policies and current literature.
- Ability to administer the case management of National Guard Service members to include identifying necessary changes, advising others of its requirements and acting as liaison in providing information and education on the program.
- Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to review in order to identify case management issues, determine medical readiness of service members and make recommendations for improvement.
- Knowledge of nursing theory and practice with current clinical hands-on experience to evaluate, assess, and recommend the appropriate service member healthcare plans.
- Knowledge and ability to use professional nursing clinical expertise to assess, evaluate and recommend case management interventions.
- Ability to communicate effectively in order to gather data, present information, coordinate and facilitate activities, and make recommendations both orally and in writing.
- Knowledge of techniques for data analysis to identify patterns, trends, or issues of significance, and the ability to analyze the data, draw conclusions, and present data.
- Knowledge of medical automation and its use in data collection and display.
