Conditions of employment
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
- Maintenance of current license as a Registered Nurse.
- Must complete a health assessment including all required immunizations.
- Travel to on and off post locations required.
- Position requires availability to work shifts during all hours of program operation, which may include some evening/weekend hours.
- Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors.
- Must have the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40lbs, walk, bend, stoop, and stand on a routine basis.
- Must obtain and maintain credentials to instruct staff in administration of CPR/First Aid.
- Incumbent is a mandated reporter of all suspected incidents of child abuse/neglect.
Qualifications
Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.
A qualified candidate must possess the following:
Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed by the applicant. Must have active, current registration as a professional nurse (RN) in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. In addition to the above, applicants must have at least one of the following:
1. One year of specialized experience equivalent in scope and complexity to the next lower grade level
2. Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education or a master's or equivalent degree in the field of nursing.
In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":
Highly-qualified candidates will have experience in pediatric nursing and/or working with children/youth with special needs.

Area of Consideration
- This job is open to candidates who are in the local area within a 60 mile radius of Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. (Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) Preference eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.)

- This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
