In order to qualify, you must meet the Education and Experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Individual Occupational Requirement (IOR): The 1515 occupational series has specific education requirements that apply to all positions. In addition to the required experience listed above,applicants must also meet at least one of the two individual occupational requirements (IOR) listed below (A.- B.) to be considered qualified for this position. To meet the education requirements, you must have:
A) A Degree in Operations Research.
OR
B) A Degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics,probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. Note: A copy of your transcripts must be uploaded with your application package. Transcripts must show the "degree awarded/conferred" date to qualify.
In addition to the basic education requirements for the disciplines identified above, applicant must also have at least one year of specialized experience at the NH-03 (GS-13 or equivalent) level in the Federal Service.
Specialized Experience: In order to qualify based on experience your resume must describe, at least one year of specialized experience at theNH-03 (GS-13 equivalent) level in the Federal Service that includes: (1) developing baseline cost estimates for the complex designs of the PM's system; (2) reviewing funding requirements for budget input (i.e. cost analysis and estimation, life cycle cost estimates, business case analyses/cost benefit analyses, etc.); (3) applying operations research concepts, principles, and practices related to the mission, objectives, purpose, configuration, characteristics, and program parameters to identify cost factors and relationships; (4) analyzing data to develop solutions through the application of analytical techniques; and (5) directing various functional areas of cost estimating, economic analysis, cost validation, portfolio analysis, operational effectiveness modeling, modeling, simulation, analysis and evaluation for assigned program(s).
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service (NH-03 or GS-13 equivalent).
This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Business-Cost Estimating - Advanced certification within 48 months as of entrance on duty.
