POSITION REQUIREMENTS.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS (IOR):
Education must have been completed in a U.S. college, university, or other educational institution that has been accredited by one of the accrediting agencies or associations recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
A. Have a Degree in Operations Research.

OR
B. Have a degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, economics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.

In addition to the basic education requirements identified above, applicant must also describe the experience you possess that demonstrates your ability to perform the work of an Operations Research Analyst at the NH-03 grade level or equivalent pay grade level in the Federal Service.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: your resume must describe one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02 level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Utilizing cost analysis systems such as Automated Cost Estimating-Integrated Tools (ACEIT) for Life Cycle Cost Estimate and Program Office Estimate (POE) in support of signed acquisition programs; 2) Building cost estimates in accordance with accounting laws, regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure data is accurate and in compliance with regulatory guidelines; 3) Preparing cost comparisons to ensure project costs do not exceed budget (e.g. Analysis of Alternatives (AoA), Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA), or Economic Analysis).
The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-02 (or GS-11 equivalent).
