Duties

This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the DC Air National Guard.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: You must meet the minimum military rank as specified in this announcement. The National Guard's full-time support program requires that all military technicians are members of the National Guard and are appointed to full-time positions which correspond to their military assignments. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership.

Other requirements: For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed. For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within One (1) year of appointment.

This position is located in an Air National Guard, Combat Air Force (CAF) Wing, Maintenance Group, Maintenance Squadron, Munitions Flight. The purpose of this position is to provide munitions support to the state and designated agencies in support of their taskings. This dual status technician position requires military membership.

Duties:

  • Configures Munitions Material Handling Equipment (MMHE) for mission support. Delivers in a safe configuration, MMHE/munitions between assembly/staging areas and aircraft parking ramps.
  • Prepares, maintains, and updates historical serviceability and maintenance records. Establishes and maintains bench stock and operational stock program. Interprets pilot deficiency reports for missile systems to independently establish repair procedures. Repairs, maintains, and tests functionality and interconnections of electromechanical servo systems, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electric motor systems in missile and decoy platforms.
  • Coordinates with munitions elements, weapons expediter, flight-line expediter, maintenance activities, and base support agencies to ensure effective flow of information, scheduling, and use of available resources.
  • Tracks work-order completion actions, awaiting maintenance/parts and TCTO programs. Coordinate with Quality Assurance for review of all TCTOs, mission critical list, modifications, retrofits, and alterations.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Experience or training which has provided the candidate with the knowledge and application of mechanical and electrical principles and the skill to perform intricate repair and adjustment of hydraulic and pneumatic components and devices.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Experience or training in repairing, rebuilding, modifying and testing a variety of major subassemblies. Experience in diagnosing malfunctions and determining repair in major components consisting of numerous assemblies, interrelated electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic assemblies, and components. Experience in the use of precision measurement equipment. Experience interpreting and applying a variety of technical manuals and similar published materials.
