In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C for WG 6600-Armament Work Group.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG 6600-Armament Work Group. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
The screen out element for this position is the ability to do the work of an ORDNANCE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC SUPERVISOR with little to no supervision.
JOB ELEMENTS: Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
- Knowledge of a wide range of principles, processes, and techniques of trade(s) and/or craft(s)supervised and personnel management policies, practices, and procedures, including sexual harassment and Equal Employment Opportunity/ Equal Employment Treatment. Knowledge of safety regulations, practices, and procedures.
- Knowledge and practical application of MIS (e.g. CAS, TMRS, MC2K, CAMS) programs.
- Comprehensive knowledge of assigned weapon systems including airframes, munitions systems, and the Interrelationships among systems and munitions power plants, needed to make various operational checks and verify established performance limits.
- Knowledge of aircraft flying hour and maintenance and munitions planning cycles, documentation, and communication necessary to execute plans.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, specifications, blueprints, and technical orders, and to evaluate compliance, adequacy of repair actions, and proper installation of parts and modifications. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to execute disaster control and emergency war order/contingency plans. Skill in directing munitions generation/evacuation processes.
OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS:
- May be required to fly in commercial and military aircraft to perform temporary/permanent duty assignments.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license may be required for the position.
- This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Work schedule will be aligned to allow incumbent to fully participate in unit training assemblies (UTA). The incumbent's regular assignments are ART duties; however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
