Duties
This position is located in an Air National Guard, Combat Air Force (CAF) Wing, Maintenance Group, Maintenance Squadron, Munitions Flight.
This position is responsible for comprehensive planning, directing, and administering munitions operations within the organization. The incumbent plans the allocation of personnel, funding, facilities, and equipment on an annual or multi-year basis, ensuring seamless integration with USAF operations and maintaining combat readiness of assigned Air National Guard munitions. This includes overseeing munitions system modifications, deployment planning, financial forecasting, and Air Force mandated inspections. The role also involves assigning and directing work for subordinate sections, balancing workloads, promoting efficiency, and coordinating with other wing organizations. Furthermore, the position encompasses personnel administration, including performance appraisals, recommendations for promotion, and resolution of personnel issues. A critical aspect of the role is ensuring adherence to stringent safety and security regulations to protect personnel and munitions, fostering a safe and secure working environment.

- This is an T32 excepted service position that requires membership military assignment in the employing state's National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement, required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

Qualifications
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION OPEN TO AREAS OF CONSIDERATION (AOC) 1 ONLY.
AOC DEFINITIONS:
Area 1: Current permanent employees of the South Carolina Air National Guard. (Note-Temporary and Indefinite employees do not meet permanent tenure requirements and will not qualify for this AOC)
Area 2: Current members of the South Carolina Air National Guard.
Area 3: Any individual eligible for membership in the South Carolina Air National Guard.
Min/Max Military Grades: SMSgt/E-8, CMSgt/E-9
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates that the candidate has the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To be rated qualified for this position your resume must show definitively at least 36months experience in the following- - In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.
