Summary

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a ORDNANCE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC T32, Position Description Number PDD2573000and is part of the AZ 162nd Wing, National Guard.

Duties

This position is located in Tucson, Arizona with the 162nd MXG. The purpose of this position is to provide munitions support to the state and designated agencies in support of their taskings.

Requirements

Conditions of Employment

  • ARIZONA AIR NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. Prior to appointment into this position, selectee must be a current member of the Arizona Air National Guard, in a military position assigned to 162nd MXG.
  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Incumbent must possess and maintain a current state driver’s license.
  • This position is subject to rotating or night shift work.

Qualifications

Military Grades: E-1/AB to E-5/SSgt

Compatible Military Assignments: Must possess 2W0X1

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

WG-5 - Must possess at least 6 months experience or training servicing and adjusting ordnance equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, assembling, and disassembling parts. Experience which has demonstrated the ability to identify and locate troubles by sight. Experience in the use of common hand tools. Experience showing the ability to follow written instruction.

WG-8 - Must possess at least 12 months experience or training in dismantling, cleaning and reassembling various ordnance equipment such as; target detecting, arming, control, steering, power and propulsion units and devices. Experience which required the ability to diagnose malfunctions. Experience in hand tools and a limited number of measuring instruments. Experience in the use of a variety of test equipment, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and meggers. Experience interpreting and applying a variety of technical manuals and similar published materials.

WG-10 - Must possess at least 18 months experience or training in repairing, rebuilding, modifying, and testing a variety of major subassemblies. Experience in diagnosing malfunctions and determining repair in major components consisting of numerous assemblies, interrelated electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic assemblies, and components. Experience in the use of precision measurement equipment. Experience interpreting and applying a variety of technical manuals and similar published materials.

5. Skill in all processes from disassembly thru final test of the more complex equipment and multi-component devices which are composed of a number of interrelated electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic assemblies and components.
