Summary

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a ORDNANCE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2573000 and is part of the NC ANG, National Guard (ANG -145 MXS SQ / Position No. 1161542).

The area of consideration for this position is CAT 1 (Areas 1-4) (Air). Duties

As an ORDNANCE EQUIPMENT WORKER, WG-6641-10, you will manage allocation, stock levels, inventory, requisitions, and disposition of munitions manage excess serviceable/unserviceable munitions program; coordinate scheduling of complete, custody, special munitions inventories and compiles inventory adjustment packages as required; establish and maintain an effective munitions inspection program for all munitions assets to include receipt, inspection, stockpile surveillance and preservation, marking and packaging, and shipping requirements; manage warehouse munitions stockpiles, maintain storage area infrastructure and facilities, vehicles, and equipment to ensure mission support; process munitions movement transactions; prepare and schedule munitions for shipment; develop, maintain and utilize a Master Storage Plan to the maximum extent possible; ensure all containers placed in storage are properly marked and sealed; maintain munitions storage facility exits, doors, door components, and locks in good working order; assemble/disassemble, adjust configuration, perform maintenance/tests & repairs, handle and transport ammunition, decoys, countermeasures to include LUU series flares and dispensers, rocket, unguided and guided weapons and countermeasures, demolition material, and other types of conventional ordnance such as 40MM, Cluster Bomb Units (CBU), Guided Bomb Units (GBU), general purpose bombs, aircraft canon ammunition, missile systems, for loading on aircraft based on Unit Committed Munitions List (UCML) and Wings training requirements; independently troubleshoot electrical/mechanical faults of integrated systems by thoroughly analyzing operating trends; perform Pre/Post Flight inspection and flight line return inspections; assign Weapon Stock Number (WSN) and records builds and teardowns of complete rounds in the accountable property system of record (APSR); precision measuring tools and equipment; wiring diagrams; rigid specifications and close tolerances to examine ordnance systems using a variety of standard precision instruments, gauges and methods; perform maintenance on electrical, pneumatic, and high pressure air tanks subsystems and assemblies; configure Munitions Material Handling Equipment (MMHE) for mission support; deliver in a safe configuration, MMHE/munitions between assembly/staging areas and aircraft parking ramps; validate expenditure and movement documentation for munitions reconciliation and expenditure reporting; perform and certify, armament and support equipment serviceability inspections; maintain and repair MMHE for all work orders assigned to maintenance actions; perform inspections on armament, support, and associated test equipment using a wide variety of processes and techniques; troubleshoot electrical systems on support equipment for fault isolation IAW electrical wiring schematics; repair/rebuild hydraulic braking systems and surge brake components on MMHE to include fabrication/bending/routing of brake lines; prepare, maintain, and update historical serviceability and maintenance records; establish and maintain bench stock and operational stock program; interpret pilot deficiency reports for missile systems to independently establish repair procedures; repair, maintain, and test functionality and interconnections of electromechanical servo systems, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electric motor systems in missile and decoy platforms; document PGM serviceability in enterprise wide database Tactical Munitions Reporting System (TMRS) for equipment specialist review and trend data analysis; coordinates with Air Logistics Complex (ALC) Special Program Offices (SPO) with Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) reporting, software/mapping updates and deficiency reporting; coordinate with various sections to ensure the effective flow of information, scheduling, and use of available resources; manage Nuclear Certified Equipment Program as applicable; develop, maintain, coordinate, and integrate Emergency Action Checklists with outside agencies; process munitions transactions, creates, and tracks work-orders in the appropriate automated system; maintain maps showing the entire storage area, primary and alternate explosives routes, and sited explosives locations; administer combat plans and mobility packages; execute and coordinate training schedules, including Combat Munitions Training (CMT) for fulltime staff and traditional guardsman; develop and maintain munitions portion of the Base Support Plan, Expeditionary Site Plan, and Munitions Employment Plan; serve as a point of contact for developing, planning, forecasting, and scheduling for the maintenance of live, inert, and dummy munitions, non-powered munitions support equipment, handling equipment, and facility inspection requirements; comply with all Federal, State, DOD, USAF, and local regulations concerning hazardous materials/waste munitions assets; perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Military Grades: Enlisted (SSgt/E5 and below)

Minimum Requirements: Experience or training which has provided the candidate with the knowledge and application of mechanical and electrical principles and the skill to perform intricate repair and adjustment of hydraulic and pneumatic components and devices.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience or training in repairing, rebuilding, modifying and testing a variety of major subassemblies. Experience in diagnosing malfunctions and determining repair in major components consisting of numerous assemblies, interrelated electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic assemblies, and components. Experience in the use of precision measurement equipment.
Experience interpreting and applying a variety of technical manuals and similar published materials.
