Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. NOTE: This is a developmental position. Management is selecting this position at the GS-06 or GS-07 grade levels. If selected at the GS-06 the incumbent maybe non-competitively be promoted to the target grade level GS-07.
GS-06 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes working with health care personnel performing one or more of the following, assist with patient check-in scheduling or rescheduling appointments, entering information in an automated medical information system and screen patients to obtain medical history. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05 or above).
GS-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conduct occupational health interviews and perform tests such as vital signs, audiograms, spirometry, vision screening, electrocardiograms. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06 or above).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
