To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENTS, GS-0631:
Note: Employees currently assigned to positions in this occupational series as of September 2017 will be considered to have met the basic requirements for the position occupied.
- An occupational therapy curriculum approved by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) or a professional accrediting organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained; and
- Completion of the clinical requirements prescribed by the school.
Certification: For all grade levels, applicants must have passed the national examination administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). (Applicant must maintain an unrestricted license.)
In addition to the Individual Occupational Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-11 Grade Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Examples include:
Program planning, monitoring, and adhering to established Occupational Therapy Performance. Provide Occupational Therapy consultation, evaluation and treatment for inpatient and outpatient clinics. Customize treatment programs to improve one's ability to perform daily activities, job site evaluations, recommendations, performance skills assessment, etc. Promote prevention of injury and/or disease.

Completed three (3) years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree
or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.

Combination of education and experience that when combined fully meet the minimum qualifications for this position. The total percentage equals at least 100 percent to qualify for this GS-11 grade level.

GS-12 Grade Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Examples include:
Professional knowledge of a wide range of principles, concepts, and practices of occupational therapy; develop individual treatment programs for patients; provide elbow-wrist-hand evaluation and treatment (i.e. hand therapy); perform examinations and evaluations; interpret findings from examination and evaluations.
