Clarification from the agency

United States (U.S.) Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation. U.S citizens overseas under ordinary resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement.

Duties

  • Duties may include: Greeting customers; answering telephone and taking/delivering messages; filing; preparing labels, envelopes, or simple forms; operating a copy or fax machine; sorting and stapling documents; or organizing office supplies.
  • May assist higher-level employees with more detailed tasks.
  • May perform other closely related duties as assigned.
  • Under close supervision, performs a variety of simple, routine clerical and office support duties.

  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older at time of appointment or placement into the position.

Qualifications

These positions are:
  1. CYS Youth Workforce WPP Position is temporary not to exceed 12 weeks from the effective date of employment, and up to 10 guaranteed hours per week.
  2. Effective start date January 8, 2026
  3. Not to exceed 10 hours per week.
  4. Located at various CYS Services Facilities within USAG Japan and
  5. Is funded by the Installation Management Command, G9, Youth Workforce Preparation Program (WPP).
The WPP focuses on Youth career development through a developmental program designed to provide on the job work experience and a training plan that include a website for the participants to maximize the career exploration experience. The website offers an interest survey where participants may learn about different careers that match their current interests and talents. Participants will also have an opportunity to identify additional training or college requirements for the different careers they may have an interest in exploring. Overall, the WPP will provide participants with support and guidance in improving their employability skills.

The Job Fair is held Thursday, October 9, 2025 and Friday, October 10, 2025 from 1500-1700 at Camp Zama Youth Center, Building 744.
