U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.

Duties

  • Serve as the lead point of contact for the day-to-day front office operations of a veterinary clinic.
  • Coordinates with clinic management to establish clinic schedule and appointment availability. Loads schedules into AVImark Practice Management System.
  • Opens and secures the clinic and pharmaceuticals daily.
  • Processes and verifies cash flow transactions and deposits and balances daily/weekly/monthly reports.
  • Prepares and distributes client/patient correspondence and corresponds with civilian and military veterinary clinics regarding confidential client/patient information.
  • Distributes and balances workload among lower level clerks in accordance with established workflow.
  • Conduct on the job training to lower level clerks and new employees in accordance with established procedures and practices.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Must not have an aversion to animals, blood, bodily fluids, animal tissues, strong odors, needles, or sharp instruments. Long periods of standing, restraining, kneeling, reaching and sitting, etc.
  • Must be able to receive all mandated immunizations to work in a direct-patient capacity and/or veterinary environment IAW AR 40-562 chap 4-1.
  • Physical effort (preferable): Ability to lift 40 lbs and long periods of standing, restraining, kneeling, reaching and sitting, etc.
  • Ability to work occasional Saturdays for special events - as needed by management

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Progressively work experience which demonstrates the knowledge and skills required to perform the duties of the position.
  • Basic computer skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Suite or equivalent.
  • Experience in using a point of sales software.
  • Basic arithmetic expertise to balance cash draw, accept payments and provide change accurately.
  • Typing proficiency - 40WPM.
Preferred Experience:
  • Clerical experience in a Veterinary Clinic or equivalent or working in an outpatient medical facility/operations as clerical-administrative support.
