    About the position:
    This position will be assigned to the Youth Center at the Naval Weapon Station.

    This is a Regular Full Time position offering annual/sick leave and benefits; Health/Dental and Life Insurance, 401k and Retirement.

    Responsibilities

    Performs primarily substantive clerical work in support of technical administrative management and/or operational requirements within the Airman and Family Services Flight. Prepares a wide variety of recurring and non-recurring correspondence, reports and other documents (e.g. medication log; incident/accident log, etc.). Composes non-technical correspondence, such as instructions on office procedures, requests for information, and letters of acknowledgement or notification. Transmits and receives documents and messages electronically. Monitors the number of children enrolled in weekly programs and tends to demands when appropriate. Participates in parent orientation meetings. Consolidates and finalizes information from systems and tiles for various reports in accordance with established reporting procedures. Prepares and maintains classroom rosters, special needs and allergy lists. Maintains children's tiles in accordance with established procedures. Contacts parents to request missing information; notified director when difficulties are encountered. Contacts parents to report injuries that occur. Prepares and consolidates time and attendance records in accordance with established procedures. Compiles and submits USDA paperwork and reports. Verifies classroom staff accurately document and report number of meals served daily. Compiles numbers for end-of-month report to submit to USDA for reimbursement. Promptly reports any concerns regarding the USDA program to the program director. Assists the director with ensuring menus posted are current, accurate and changes are made following AF criteria. Ensures meals and snacks are documented IA W USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program requirements. Efficiently maintains USDA records according to USDA standards to enable quick retrieval of information. Compiles hourly and daily child attendance reports so that planning may be completed for maximum possible usage. Monitors working conditions such as heating, ventilation, lighting, safety, etc. Initiates AF Form 332 and maintains a work order file, communicating with Civil Engineering (CE) to assist in maintaining a safe environments for children and staff. Monitors from work station through closed-circuit cameras all activities of children and staff while in classrooms and center, and notes any discrepancies to the program director. Monitors staff/child ratio to ensure proper scheduling of staff. Receives telephone calls, visitors, inquires, and customers ensuring the needs of each are ascertained and addressed. Requires visitors to comply with sign-in/out procedures and escorts visitors as required. Ensures only authorized patrons use/access the facility. Computes childcare rates, receives payments, provides receipts, records transactions and notifies parents on delinquent accounts. Notifies past due patron accounts. Performs daily setup of cash registers. Consolidates reviews and verifies funds and forms submitted for deposit. Takes appropriate action when receipts and funds collected do not balance. Informs supervisor of unresolved discrepancies or unfavorable trends. Makes deposits as appropriate. Orders supplies/equipment as instructed, maintaining accurate records in accordance with established procedures. Is responsible for the receipt, control, logging, safekeeping, and necessary action on freedom of information materials. Performs clerical work for purchasing that requires the application of general purchasing procedures following established regulations and guidelines. Gathers data for orders and expense reports provided to supervisor for final approval. Is a Government Purchase Cardholder (GPC) of NAF and/or APFs. Establishes and maintains control/inventory logs. Refers requests for exception to policy to program director. Performs other related duties as assigned. Incumbent may be required to represent the program during the absence of senior management. This position grade equals that of a GS-5 in duties/pay. As per AFJ341144, a GS-OS or NAF equivalent may manage the facility for no more than two consecutive hours; or three consecutive hours as long as there is a CYP manager of a higher grade available on the installation to assist if necessary.

Must possess the ability to read and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using tact and courtesy in English. Ability to plan, organize work and meet deadlines.
