Summary

About the position: This position is located at the NAF Resources Central Warehouse, Ramstein AB, Germany. This position may offer logistical support.

Duties

Receives and directs telephone calls and visitors. Processes incoming mail and maintains files. Uses word processing software to produce a variety of documents and to update and retrieve information. Fathers, analyzes and inputs information for inventory, financial statements and other documentation needed for the proper control of operational data, cost and accounting data, such as purchase order control, receiving of merchandise, daily sales, etc. Acts upon problems which may come up during production runs, reconciliation and verification of information and final inventory computation. Performs minor maintenance on office equipment and ensures that the work area is kept clean and orderly. Receives, verifies, and processes purchase orders and inventory replenishment requests from the proper authority, obtaining order and call numbers as required. Performs physical inventories, compiles information and inputs into inventory accounting systems. Forwards information to the appropriate Non-appropriated Funds (NAF) offices to ensure that final processing and payments can be made. Updates price lists, assigns identification numbers, and posts the item description and stock number for inventory and identification purposes. Assists personnel in the identification without stock or control numbers. Maintains files to include current and completes purchase orders, inventory count sheet, transfer between cost center forms, intermediate and final inventory and sales records. Coordinates with managers to ensure that all orders and reports are correct. Maintains files on all purchases and receipts. Provides computer printouts of inventories and other required reports to all sections as deemed necessary. Identifies inventory variances and ensures that managers are informed of appropriate corrective actions. Ensures that proper accounting procedures are followed. Maintains overtime requests and timecards for personnel within the office. Completes all other duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
Applicant must have experience clerical work in which the applicant has demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactory at the grade level of the position. Basic knowledge of computer operations is required. Must be knowledgeable of basic accounting procedures, calculator, and other office equipment operation, care and maintenance. Knowledge of local requisition, stock control, inventory, and transfer procedures is high desirable. Typing skills are desirable.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
