About the Position: You will serve as an Operations Officer. Performs expert management advisory duties for planning, analysis and implementation of programs.

Duties

  • Serves as an Operations Officer providing management advisory duties for planning, analysis and implementation of programs.
  • Assures integrated and coordinated short term, mid-term, and long-range planning on projects and tasks.
  • Prepares reports and presentations outlining the current status that cross organizational and functional lines.
  • Develops plans and objectives for assigned management programs and procedures for gathering, correlating, managing data and advises management on any policy/procedure changes.

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Program Management Certification within 60 months of entrance on duty.
  • A 1-year probationary period is required unless already completed.
  • This is a Term position scheduled to last 1 year and extendable to 5 years.
  • Term employment is subject to a one-year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.
  • This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: In order to qualify for this position your resume must describe one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11 or equivalent) grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of management project operations to meet established goals and objectives; 2) Reviewing policy or procedural guidance to support a program mission; AND 3) Participating as a member of a team to meet organizational operational objectives that include elements of facilities management, program integration, or execution of day to day operations in a government program office environment.

The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-02 or GS-11 equivalent.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
