Ophthalmology Technician

Join our team at the Northern Expansion Clinic in Vero Beach, FL as an Ophthalmology Technician. In this role, you will support ophthalmologists in the diagnosis, treatment, and education of patients, as well as assist during surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and collect histories
• Conduct various diagnostic tests including refraction, tonometry, and visual field testing
• Assist in clinic-based ophthalmic surgeries
• Educate patients on eye care, including pre and post-operative instructions
• Coordinate with eye care providers to finalize diagnostic data
• Maintain and calibrate ophthalmic instruments

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
• Certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) with the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology
• Experience: One year in a healthcare field related to ophthalmology or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Physical Requirements

Must pass a pre-employment physical examination
