Outdoor Adventure Program Coordinator

Location:

Eglin Outdoor Recreation, 96th Force Support Squadron, Eglin AFB, Florida

Job Type:

Regular Part-time (RPT), guaranteed 20-34 hours per week. Schedule may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Outdoor Adventure Program Coordinator to join our team at Eglin Outdoor Recreation. This role supports programs designed to help recently deployed Airmen transition smoothly from high-intensity combat zones through engaging outdoor activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and delivering diverse year-round outdoor adventure programs such as backpacking, whitewater rafting, and more.
  • Provide instruction and guidance to participants in using recreational equipment.
  • Develop and recommend programs, creating an annual calendar of events.
  • Perform administrative tasks including preparing reports and evaluating program effectiveness.
  • Train volunteers and coordinate on-site educational and recreational programs.
  • Operate a 13-15 passenger van with trailer for transportation of participants.
  • Manage marketing efforts for all programs, including social media.

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a background investigation.
  • Consent to pre-employment and random drug testing.
  • Possession of a valid state Driver's License.
  • Current nationally recognized certification in basic first aid and CPR.
  • Strong communication skills and public interaction ability.
  • Experience in organized recreational activities.
  • Able to work in varying weather conditions and lift up to 40 lbs with assistance.

Education:

Education cannot be substituted for required experience. Foreign education must be deemed equivalent to U.S. standards.

Open to everyone within a 100-mile radius of Eglin AFB, Florida. Eligibility determined by preference categories. Proof needed by the application deadline.
