Qualifications
GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector assisting with the development of packaging methods and techniques to protect supplies, materials, and equipment. Examples of specialized experience include the following: 1) Assist with determining the best method of packaging materials with regards to weight, shelf life, preservation method, wrapping, and cushioning; 2) Assist in developing packaging requirements in support of provisioning and acquisition; 3) Ensuring supplies, materials, and equipment are protected against damage during handling, transit, or storage.
GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector developing packaging methods and techniques, as well as directing the use of packages and packaging materials to protect supplies, materials, and equipment. Examples of specialized experience include the following: 1) Determine the best method of packaging materials with regards to weight, shelf life, preservation method, wrapping, and cushioning; 2) Apply a working knowledge of packaging activities to ensure that supplies, materials, and equipment are protected against from mechanical force (weight, pressure, impact) and against deterioration from heat, cold, dampness, or other environmental conditions during handling, transit, or storage; 3) Analyze customer requirements, make recommendations for solving problems, and translate the requirements into information system solutions; 4) Perform research, summarize information, and provide reports as it relates to packaging, handling, storage, and transportation (PHS&T) activities.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
Education
The following education may be used as a substitute for experience:
GS-07: 1 full year of graduate level education, or, a Bachelor's Degree with Superior Academic Achievement (S.A.A).
GS-09: Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or, 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree,
or, LL.B. or J.D., if related.
