The United States Space Force (USSF) at Los Angeles Space Force Base is searching for a PEO Security Supervisor for SSC/IP (NH-0080-04, GS 14/15 equivalent).
Description:
Represents the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with SAFI AAZ, Air Staff, Program Element Monitors, USSF, SpOC, HQ AFMC, Joint Staff, COCOM, OSD, AFOSI/PJ, Industry partners, and other Services as necessary to meet the requirements of assigned functional security areas and PEO needs. Meets with key customers and coordinating officials to assess customer satisfaction, explain organization policy and procedures, and resolves significant problems that arise. Ensures unit provide customer guidance and training. Participates in special projects and initiatives and performs special assignments. Identifies the need for special projects and initiates milestones and goals. Evaluates reports by analyzing facts and performing appropriate research and prepares detailed responses. Determines appropriate recommendations for unresolved or questionable problems and performs follow¬up. Researches and determines or recommends appropriate actions or interpretation of issues that impact organization, installation, command, or agency. Participates in working groups regarding functional security matters which may include representatives from DoD, DCSA, USSF, IC, AFOSJ/PJ, and other government agencies. Provides security expertise to SSC Acquisition Programs. Works with Acquisition Deltas and Program Managers to develop security plans, security infrastructure (both physical and personnel), and ensure compliance with Space Force, Air Force, and DoD security direction. Liaison with oversight authorities (AFOSI/PJ, SSC/S2S, DCSA, DIA) and the defense industrial base for all aspects of acquisition program security. Manages and coordinates Program Protection Planning for the PEO' s entire portfolio. In coordination with Program Management, provides government direction to program contractors to ensure compliance with acquisition security needs. Provides oversight and industrial security expertise for SSC' s industry partners.
Ideal Candidate Worksheet:
In-depth knowledge of Space Force acquisitions programs and security processes. Understanding of program planning, budget and financial management cycles and policies. Ability to gather, analyze, and present complex facts and develop programming and budgetary strategies. Ability to identify problems, develop and implement innovative detailed strategies to resolve a wide range of programming, budgetary, financial and management issues. Ability to negotiate resolution of complex budget and financial execution issues. Ability to interpret and apply fiscal policy and financial rules, regulations, and procedures. Ability to execute complex projects and/or studies within established time constraints. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain relationships with key individuals/groups within and outside immediate work unit including field-level representatives. Ability to advise senior leaders, Program Executive Officers, Program Element Monitors and field-level representatives. Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance with SCI and SAP eligibility. May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments. May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis. Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise; employee must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance. Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification {SFPC), Security Asset Protection Professional Certification and Security Program Integration Professional Certification conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification and AFI 36-2645, Security Professional Certification and Development. The listed certification requirements may not be deleted or modified without the written approval of the AF Security Functional Authority {SAF/M) or their delegated security career field representative.
