What are we looking for?
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Counseling, Rehabilitation, Personal Financial Management or related field is required. Master's Degree is highly preferred.
- Must have a minimum of three years experience in, or related to, career planning, employment services, personal financial management, direct advisement of students, curriculum design, and/or instructing.
- One year supervisory experience.
- Must be able to operate a personal computer, printer, etc., and have current knowledge in various office computer programs and software applications. Ability to collect, evaluate, and disseminate information and assess and measure organizations' and other serviced populations' trends, concerns, and needs.
- Ability to communicate effectively (writing, listening, speaking). Ability to work independently and follow-through on assigned tasks.
- Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests, learning and motivation.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships using tact, diplomacy, and overall professionalism.
- Ability to evaluate, plan, and implement training systems for both in classroom and online instruction and delivery. Understanding and use of current education practices in career advisement.
- Skilled in program design, implementation, and management. Ability to plan, organize, instruct and facilitate educational courses of quality.
- Ability to relate to a diverse student population.
- Additional Preferred Qualifications: Experience in education, career and personal financial management development strategies for diverse higher education populations. Experience in resume writing. Ability to organize activities and coordinate groups of people. Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC) certification or willingness to potentially obtain certification. Experience in program analysis and evaluation. Experience in developing policies and procedures.
