This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is:
WG:09 - 1) Knowledge of advanced principles and procedures of IPM including chemical control techniques, precise surveys and parasite and predator usage. 2) Broad knowledge of pesticide toxicity, chemical solutions and baits. Skill in safe pesticide and toxic chemical disposal methods, in poison baiting techniques. Ability to operate spraying and dusting equipment. Skill in using formulas and guidelines to balance pesticides. Ability to select equipment and to set controls to allow for wind, terrain, and population conditions. 3) Knowledge of federal and state requirements dealing with mixing, application, and disposal of restricted use pesticides. Ability to use algebra and mathematical skills and selected formulas involving area, volume, and diluent measurements to compute proper pesticide applications. 4) Skill in using/maintaining various hand tools and electric tools (i.e. electric motor hammer drill).
WG:07- 1) Knowledge of standard principles and procedures of IPM including chemical control techniques, precise surveys and parasite and predator usage. 2) Common knowledge of pesticide toxicity, chemical solutions and baits. 3) Skill in using formulas and instructions to balance pesticides within established guidelines. Ability to use algebra and mathematical skills and selected formulas involving area, volume, and diluent measurements to compute proper pesticide applications. 3) Skill in safe pesticide and toxic chemical disposal methods and in common poison baiting techniques. 4) Ability to operate standard spraying and dusting equipment. Ability to select equipment and to set controls to allow for wind, terrain, and population conditions. 5) Knowledge of federal and state requirements dealing with mixing, application, and disposal of restricted use pesticides.
