Duties
As a POWERED SUPPORT EQUIPMENT OPERATOR, WG- 5378-08, you will troubleshoot, repair, service, perform minor modifications on, and operate powered qround support equipment such as AC and DC power generators, air compressors, blowers, heaters, portable lighting units, de-icers, and nonpowered equipment to include workstands, jacks, ramps, tow-bars, etc. Troubleshoot equipment and determines the extent of repairs the incumbents authorized to perform as well as the parts required. The authorized level of maintenance includes minor tuneups and adjustments of internal combustion and turbine engines, carburetors, clutch linkaqe, brakes, and other mechanical links which utilize common hand tools and a small variety of test equipment. Perform other duties as assigned.

- KANSAS NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance within one year of appointment.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Kansas State driver's license prior to appointment
- May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:Experience or training which demonstrates the knowledge of mechanical work; ability to read and use technical manuals, illustrations, diagrams and schematics, and skill in the use of equipment and hand tools used in troubleshooting, testing and repairing equipment.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have experience or training which demonstrate a basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic theory and the makeup and operation of the various individual systems and their interrelationships. Experience using a small variety of test and measurement devices. Experience removing, adjusting, replacing, cleaning and installing a variety of parts, components, and accessories. Experience reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
WORKING CONDITICNS: Works inside and outside in inclement weather, on icy, wet and slippery ramps, aircraft surfaces and work stands. Subject to the dangers from exposure to toxic fumes, high pressure air and fluids, aud electrical current. Subject to the hazards of engine intake noise, fumes, heat, blast and rotating propellers. Physical efforts to involve climbing, stooping, standing, bending, stretching, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
