A bachelor's degree or higher in a behavioral, social science, or related discipline appropriate to this position ispreferred.Knowledge and experience within primary prevention is highly desired.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes applying knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies as well as behavioral, social science and/or public health practices principles and theories relating to prevention and resilience. Providing knowledge of a wide range of delivery systems relating to prevention and resilience and the multiple uses of such systems. Using knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects. Providing in-depth knowledge of military culture, military family dynamics, and the unique challenges military families face. Working well in a team approach and effectively lead and chair committees, working groups, and teams. 3. Must obtain, maintain and renew credentialing as required by a credentialing board identified by the DoD and specified

4. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.

6. Position requires flexibility and adaptability to implement DAF's frequent program and policy modifications, which are often made quickly in response to evolving environments, mission sets and risk/protective factors.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
- Comprehensive and professional knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies as well as behavioral, social science and/or public health practices principles and theories relating to the prevention of violence and promotion of helping seeking and resilience.
- Thorough knowledge of a wide range of delivery systems relating to violence prevention and the multiple uses of such systems.
- In-depth knowledge of DAF culture, military family dynamics, related professional fields, and a thorough knowledge of the DAF community and the unique challenges that DAF families face; or equivalent knowledge.
- Knowledge of quantitative techniques and methods used to develop, adapt, modify, and apply models to resolve problems or define and clarify alternative solutions to inform prevention efforts; ability to formulate and conduct assessments and evaluations to implement and monitor primary prevention plans.
- Skill and ability to provide professional advisory services, develop and utilize appropriate data collection techniques and design, build, and use models and simulation techniques for prevention.
- Ability to identify individual and community risk and protective factors in order to determine needed primary prevention activities to meet the needs of the base populace. Ability to work well with others in a team approach and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
