THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This position is located at the ANG Wing with/or without geographically separated units (GSU)/ ARNG Region located in a State that is divided into multiple regions (within the State) not servicing one specific BDE.
DEFINITION OF AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION:
Area 1 = Officer, Warrant Officer, and Enlisted members of the Louisiana National Guard.

Duties
Duties & Responsibilities:
(GS09):
1. Performs developmental assignments of moderately difficult and complex nature consisting of well precedented
tasks designed to orient the employee in the application of harm and abuse prevention
programs and activities. Assignments are combined with training to develop analytical skills and
techniques used to resolve issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature.
2. Performs recurring assignments. Independently performs work assignments which gradually
increase in difficulty and complexity. Incumbent determines the practices and procedures used in
accomplishing conventional tasks and interprets and adapts guidelines in order to resolve procedural
or factual issues.
3. Carries out special projects and participates in special initiatives and studies. Performs special
assignments in support of the organization; e.g., researching policy and comparing to new or
modified guidelines to assess impact; analyzing and providing substantive evaluation of data affecting
program operations; developing reports and briefings outlining study findings and recommendations;
preparing and coordinating reference papers and documentation to support project initiatives;
presenting reports to a variety of audiences; and performing analysis and providing recommendations
to resolve issues. Works with other specialists in planning and conducting studies.
4. Prepares written correspondence and other documentation. Drafts or prepares a variety of
documents to include newsletter items, responses to routine inquiries, reports, letters, and other
related documents.
5. Performs other as duties as assigned.
(GS11):
1. Serves as the point of contact for harm and abuse prevention programs and activities; provides program coordination and serves as the subject matter expert for the Wing/Region IPP program. Serves as the Primary Prevention Integrator (PPI) managing all aspects of a complex integrated primary prevention program (P3) for the Wing/Region. Serves as the Wing/Region point of contact for the suicide prevention program, workplace and domestic violence programs in a non-clinical primary prevention, here after referred to as prevention, role in coordination with applicable offices and community agencies.
2. Supports inter- and intra-personal violence prevention efforts and programming through the Wing/regional leadership advisory committees, boards and working groups. Represents their population's integrated prevention efforts as a member of leadership advisory committees, boards and working groups. Collects, consolidates, and presents relevant prevention program data to leadership advisory committees, boards, and working groups.
3. Serves as the Wing/Region liaison for local military and civilian agencies to promote timely information exchange, coordinate collaborative prevention efforts, and establish resource links and community partnerships. Incorporates comprehensive strategies to enhance community strengths, address broad-based community needs, suggest community problem solving methods, and forge community connections. Establishes networking, advocacy, and collaboration processes through which to promote IPP to the community.
4. Responsible for developing and overseeing healthy climate, resiliency, risk reduction activities, trainings, and communication campaigns within the Wing/Region. Advises Wing/Region commanders in communicating prevention plans and programs to subordinate units. Responsible for adopting JFHQ's activities and communication campaigns and overseeing the implementation of JFHQ's IPP strategy within communities in proximity to Units.
5. Recruits, trains, and facilitates military volunteers for prevention activity implementation. Provides technical oversight to service members (DSG/M-Day) within the Wing/Region who are assigned to perform integrated prevention activities at the Unit level. Conducts trainings around prevention activities, processes, and planning.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
(GS-09): Must possess at least One (1) year of specialized experiences at the GS-09 level; AND/OR at least Twenty-four (24) months experience experience, education or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data and recognizing solutions; preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence; evaluating objectives and develop plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various social science resources; experience utilizing the organization, its mission and the organizational staff procedures; experience interacting with a variety of groups and/or individuals; and the ability to apply analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems of a social science procedural or factual nature.
(GS-11): Must possess at least One (1) year of specialized experiences at the GS-09 level; AND/OR at least Thirty-six (36) months experience experience or training analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data and recognizing solutions; preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence; evaluating objectives and develop plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various social science resources; must have knowledge of the organization and its mission and utilized the organizational staff procedures; experience applying analytical and evaluative techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of social science program operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:1. Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance. The incumbent of this position description must have at a minimum, a completed National Agency Check (NAC) prior to position assignment.
2. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
3. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
*4. Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
5. May require travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
6. The work may require the incumbent to drive a motor vehicle; if so, and an appropriate valid driver's license is mandatory.
7. This is a National Guard dual status technician position which requires military membership.
Education

Education: Must possess a behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences;

Possess a combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences;
~OR~
Must possess Four (4) years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
