JOB TITLE:               Supply Technician
BUSINESS TITLE:    Golf Pro Shop Assistant
FLSA: Non exempt

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is established to provide assistance to the Pro Shop Manager with golf pro shop services and operations.  Under direct supervision of the Pro Shop Manager, the incumbent manages the monthly physical inventory of pro shop merchandise.  Establishes stock levels for individual items on a selective basis.  May establish and revise reorder frequencies. Adjusts and/or maintains inventory and stock property records.  Receives, inspects and prepares inventory items for resale.  Assists with managing retail merchandise modules within the point-of-sale system.  Assists in managing on-line tee time reservation system to ensure tee times are generated and booked appropriately.

May act as duty manager of and be responsible for the opening and closing of the facility.  To include, counting of cash drawers/deposits, ensuring opening/closing procedures are completed as assigned.   While acting as duty manager the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that customers are serviced appropriately and that all functions of the operation are operating as scheduled. May be responsible for training NF-1 Cashiers in technical and non-technical job proficiencies.

Assists and serves customers with location, selection and purchase of merchandise with an emphasis on customer courtesy.  Responsible for merchandising, display, and appearance of assigned area(s).  Ensures items are properly marked.  Checks merchandise, rings sales on cash register, receives payments, makes change, and completes related sales records.  Prepares written sales slips as appropriate.  Verifies personal checks and credit cards.  Responsible for assigned change fund, ensures proper accountability and security of assigned area(s).  Advises supervisor of damages, out-of-stock and/or slow-moving merchandise.

May monitor dressing rooms.  May perform general housekeeping duties such as cleaning or dusting fixtures and merchandise.  Relays information on customer needs and stock level of merchandise.  May maintain preferred customer list and notify customers of new merchandise.
  
Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy.  Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner.  Acknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye contact.  Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems.  Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services.  Takes action to solve problems quickly.  Alerts the higher level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.  

Adheres to safety regulations and standards.  Uses required safety equipment, and observes safe work procedures.  Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.

Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.

This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs will be required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must be at least 18 years old.  Relevant education may be used as a substitute for experience. 

    (Valid documentation will be required upon hire.)

  2. A minimum of one year¿s experience in the golf industry with knowledge of golf equipment specifications and functions, retail programs, policies, shipping terms, and procedures.
  3. Must be able to perform prolonged standing, walking, reaching, lifting and carrying objects up to 30 lbs.

  4. Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule to include weekends, holidays, and night time.

  5. Must be able to complete Cash Handling Training Course before handling fund and Refresher Course once per year.
  6. Must possess a current SOFA driver¿s license. 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Knowledge of work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines. 
  2. Ability to operate an electronic point of sale system and related office machines.
  3. Knowledge of business mathematics. 
  4. Willingness and ability to gain basic Japanese language skills is desirable.
