Duties
This position is located in Phoenix, Arizona with the CSMS. The purpose of this position is to perform maintenance production management, to achieve or maintain desired production levels, to serve as an equipment readiness expert for units supported by the facility, and to provide technical guidance and oversight to a lower-graded Production Controller.
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

- ARIZONA ARMY NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. Prior to appointment into this position, selectee must be a current member of the Arizona Army National Guard, in a military organization supported by the CSMS.
- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a trial period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Incumbent must possess and maintain a current unrestricted, excluding glasses, state and military driver’s license.
- Irregular (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
- Must possess and maintain access to the Arizona Army National Guard computer network (NIPR) and required systems.
- Incumbent must possess or be able to maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
- Must possess or be able to obtain required GCSS (Global Combat Support System) -Army certification within 15 days of hire date. Must be able to maintain access to GCSS-Army.
Qualifications
Military Grades:
Enlisted: E-3/PFC to E-8/MSG/1SG
Warrant Officer: W-1/WO1
Warrant Officer Candidate: WOC
Compatible Military Assignments: Enlisted and Warrant Officer: 88M, 91, 92, and 94 series
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
GS-07: Must possess 12 months experience, education or training working with people from various levels and backgrounds. Experience with a general knowledge of the functions and procedures of production control, records, references, and techniques for developing production control data. Experience assisting or maintaining workflow.
GS-09: Must possess 24 months experience, education or training scheduling workflow in more than one area and responsible for coordinating products or materials from support activities. Experience in performing or supervising journeyman level work in a production facility. Experience preparing job or work orders; scheduling various phases of projects into the production facility; following up to see if work is progressing as planned and arranging for adjustments in materials, machine processes, and work sequencing allowing for changes. Experience with current automation support programs to input data, provide status of equipment, and monitor job order status, monitor work priorities, requisition repair parts, track repair parts status, etc.
Education

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics):
1. Comprehensive knowledge of GCSS-Army with ability to input equipment and work order data, provide status of equipment, monitor job order status, monitor work priorities, requisition repair parts, track repair parts status, etc.
2. Working knowledge of unit readiness, equipment-reporting requirements, reportable systems management as prescribed by the current regulation. Ability to use current automation programs to produce readiness reports with a high degree of accuracy.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of production control, maintenance and supply procedures, equipment reporting, maintenance workflow, policies, regulations and procedures governing maintenance support operations.
4. Ability to coordinate with units and other support activities concerning the delivery, status of repair operations, and/or pick up of completed work orders.
5. Practical knowledge of classes of supply, administrative procedures and procurement processes used within the maintenance field to requisition repair parts, tools, shop supplies and equipment and to manage excess and unserviceable turn-in requirements.
6. Working knowledge of GCSS-Army for shop and bench stock record accountability, management of recoverable items, and requisitioning and receipt of repair parts.
7. Ability to track order requisitions for long lead times and past due deliveries and perform causative research.
8. Ability to set up, operate and inventory a storage and issue systems for supplies and repair parts and ensure that work order assigned items are separated from regularly stocked items when they arrive and during their storage.
9. Ability to complete detail-oriented assignments with considerable independence and within established timelines requiring the use of time management, prioritization and multi-tasking skills.
10. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to include skills in using computers and office productivity software to organize and convey information relevant to supply and maintenance operations and manage customer support operations.
