Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Must demonstrate an understanding of vessel systems, including propulsion, electrical, HVAC, and hull structures. 2) Provide planned maintenance systems (PMS) and classification requirements. 3) Provide administrative support such as planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, budgeting, and personnel.

Work is typically performed in an office setting, though there will be considerable requirements that involve visits to buildings, on ships or other structures that may be under construction, renovation, or restoration.
There is occasional exposure to prevailing outdoor field conditions at remote sites with exposure to wind, sun, rain, heat, cold, dust, smoke and noise, the incumbent may also be required to travel to the mainland, Hawaii and foreign countries to coordinate with event and system sponsors, visit facilities or potential sites for staging and providing ranges services.
Work may at times be physically demanding and involve carrying/lifting equipment, climbing towers and ladders, standing long periods, working around and on various machinery, walking/crawling/climbing/bending/stooping in confined areas onboard ships.
Other areas visited in a TAD status supporting operations will be around the WESTPAC region which includes, but not limited to Japan, Okinawa, Northern Marianas, Philippines and Korea. The incumbent occasionally wears protective clothes, hardhat, sound suppressors, safety shoes and safety glasses. Incumbent will be exposed to conditions associated with confined working and berthing spaces, rolling sea states and ocean environments associated with supporting operations on the MPC. Frequent air travel on commercial or government aircraft and periodic at-sea on the MPC or other Naval vessels for 5 or more days is required.
On frequent occasions will wear protective apparel, hard hat, sound attenuators, safety shoes, glasses and flight safety gear.
Work often extends beyond normal working hours, and may include weekends and holidays as well as embarking onboard at-sea vessels and military aircraft. The work is mentally stressful due to the requirement for frequent meetings, urgent deadlines, complex planning, and frequent negotiations between participants with divergent points of view.
The incumbent will visit sites or other facilities, which could involve considerable walking, standing, or bending. Travel by sea, air and automobile is required.
