Summary

The Air Force offers qualified applicants opportunities to be hired for certain occupations covered by Direct Hire Authorities (DHA). The use of DHA is a fast-track method of hiring applicants from the public with no prior federal status using a non-traditional method of recruitment.

Duties

  • Performs out-year budget formulation involving preparation of detailed analyses of annual and/or multi-year estimates.
  • Researches, assembles, and/or develops background, documentation, and quantitative data to support program funding requests.
  • Ensures program funding profiles across the Future Year Defense Program (FYDP) are credible in terms of realism, reasonableness, completeness, and consistency.
  • Presents long-range planning budgets to Directorate senior management, answers specific questions, and provides clarifying details.
  • Develops and recommends the adoption of Directorate procedures to implement these guidelines, providing training, advice, assistance, procedures, and guidance, as necessary.

  • The duty location for this position is Kirtland AFB, NM however this position is eligible for maximum telework flexibilities.

  • This position may require drug testing and the candidate may be subject to passing a drug test upon selection.
  • Selectee may be required to serve a probationary or trial period
  • This is an APDP position requiring Tier 2 (Practitioner) Non-Critical certification in Business-Financial Mngmt (K).
  • The employee must meet or be capable of meeting Defense Acq. Work Improvement Act requirements applicable to the duties of the position.

Qualifications

Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

To qualify for this position, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the DO-1 (7/11) broadband or equivalent in other pay systems. This specialized experience may include experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
